The Governor of the Bank of Ghana (BoG), Dr Ernest Addison has been given another four-year tenure in office, pending the approval of the yet-to-be constituted Council of State, Graphic Online has gathered.
Dr Addison’s current tenure in office was supposed to end in March 2021
However, information coming from the presidency has given the green light for him to continue as Governor of the BoG for the next four years pending the approval of the yet-to-be constituted Council of State from April 1, 2021.
Mr Addison, was appointed Governor of Bank of Ghana in 2017 to succeed Dr Abdul Nashiru Issahaku who resigned from his position.
His appointment was made in accordance with Article 183 (4) (a) of the Constitution subject to consultation with the Council of State.
Dr Addison, an Economics graduate of the University of Ghana, Legon, holds an M.Phil in Economics and Politics from the University of Cambridge, England, and Ph.D in Economics from McGill University, Canada.
