Body Washed Ashore At Winneba Beach

The body of an unknown male has been washed ashore at the Winneba beach in the Central Region of Ghana.

The deceased has not yet been identified, but residents believe the deceased might be a student from the University of Education at Winneba.

Mr. William De-Carthia, a member of the Ndaama Electoral Area, who was at the scene made a statement to journalists who had rushed there to capture the story.

“I had a call that a dead body has been washed ashore so I went to the scene and indeed saw a young man half-naked washed ashore at the beach. So I informed the Winneba Police which a CID was appointed to follow me to the scene. After taken inventories the body was conveyed to Effutu Hospital Morgue.” he said.

The Winneba Police are currently investigating the case to ascertain the cause of the drowning.
