Eating cocoa products boast your immune system

The head of public affairs of the Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD), Mr. Fifii Boafo has admonished Ghanaians to consume cocoa products often to help boost their immune system and protect them from other infections.

He said this at a press conference in Accra on the 9th of February 2021 while stating events to unfold during the 2021 national chocolate week celebration which starts on the 8th and ends on the 14th of February.

According to him, the weeklong celebration is to promote the consumption of chocolate manufactured locally in the country.

In his address, he said, “Cocoa remains our biggest export in terms of the revenue coming in and its impact on the Ghanaian public. The concern that we all have expressed as Ghanaians is that why do we continue to exporting our raw beans instead of processing them because when you process, you get a lot of money from it.

So we have had this conversation over a period and we have gotten to a stage where there is the need to put in concrete actions that will help us achieve the set targets we have set for ourselves.”

The theme for this year’s chocolate week celebration is “Eat chocolate, Stay healthy and Grow Ghana”

Mr. boafo however advised Ghanaians to strictly adhere to the covid-19 protocols as directed by the president.
