The Ghana Education Service in collaboration with UNICEF, observes it’s annual ceremony”My first day at school” which is celebrated to usher first time K.G students.
As part of the celebration, the Deputy Director-General in charge of Management Services, Lawyer Anthony Boateng, Madam Anne Claire Dufay, Country Director for UNICEF, Mr. Benjamin Gyasi, Chief Director at the Ministry of Education, Mrs. Catherine Appiah, Director for Pre Tertiary and Dr. Patrick Aboagye, Director General for Ghana Health Service, visited schools in Ayawaso West District. Bethany Methodist School, Mamobi Prison Basic School, and many other schools to mark the event.

Madam Anne Claire Dufay, the Country Director for UNICEF, encouraged the students to observe the safety protocols to remain safe amidst the pandemic.
Mr. Anthony Boateng also repeated that teachers help students to stay safe.
Dr. Patrick Aboagye, the Director-General of Ghana Health Service, also advised the students to obey the COVID-19 protocols. He again advised the teachers to stick to the safety measures as they support the students to observe the safety protocols.
In support with the GES, UNICEF donated PPE’s and some learning materials to all the schools they visited to ensure students and staff are safe in the various schools.
