The government of Ghana has promised to eradicate land guard systems in the country as it becomes a matter of great concern.

Hon. Samuel Abu Jinapor, the Minister of Lands and Natural Resources made this declaration when he paid a courtesy call on the Greater Accra Regional Minister on Tuesday, October 19, 2021, at the Accra Regional Coordinating Council in Accra.

He said land guard and multiple sales of lands among others are the major issues and great concerns which need to be tackled.

“land guard system, multiple sales of lands, general acrimony and litigation relating to lands, encroachment on lands and all these are matters of great concern to the President and his instructions are very clear that we come to grips with these matters”, he said.

Hon. Samuel Abu Jinapor adds that he will throw all his weight behind the Regional Minister to ensure they come to grips with the diverse issues pertaining to land administration in the region as the President wishes.

According to the Minister, issues relating to lands administration in Accra are more adverse than illegal mining and are great matters of concern and therefore going to ensure that attention is paid to it in that regard.

He also added that issues relating to ineffective land administration is somehow more adverse than illegal mining with a lot of economic implementation and it’s here in Accra that we have some of the major issues.

Hon. Henry Quartey, Great Accra Regional Minister commended the Lands Minister for his support and describe him as a dynamic and hard-working Minister.
