The former Member of Parliament for the Ningo-Prampram constituency, Enoch Teye Mensah has emerge victorious in the Greater Accra Region Council of State elections organised by the Electoral Commission on Friday, February 12, 2021 .
According to the Greater Accra Regional Director of the Electoral Commission, Kwame Amoah, Hon E.T Mensah competited with six others and beat them by obtaining a 100 percent of all votes cast, making him emerge has winner for the Council of State position in the Greater Accra.
His competitors were in the likes of Nii Kotei Dzani; who is the immediate past members, Michael Kofi Mensah, Wilbeck Ato Sefah, John Mantse Akwetey, Nene Konor Atiapah III and Charles Andrew Parker-Allotey.
In accordance, the President earlier through consultation with Parliament appointed,former Chief Justice, Georgina Theodora Wood, former Chief of Defence Staff of the Armed Forces Lt. Gen. J.B. Danquah and former Inspector General of Police, Nana Owusu Nsiah, to join the Council under Article 89(2)(a)(i)(ii) and (iii) of the Ghana constitution.
These elected and appointed persons for the Council of State position will join already named 11 appointees by President Akufo-Addo to among other things counsel the President in the performance of his functions.
