How Can You Print Ballot Papers With A Final Register?

The Executive Director of Care for Free & Fair Elections Ghana, David Kumi Addo, in a recent interview, has raised serious concerns about the transparency of the Electoral Commission (EC) of Ghana regarding the upcoming elections.

The critical question on everyone’s mind is: How did the EC print ballot papers when there is no confirmed number of voters on the register?

This alarming issue has lead to many Ghanaians questioning the credibility and integrity of the electoral process.

According to Kumi Addo, the voter register, which is the legal document of any election, must be finalized before ballot papers are printed.

This ensures that every eligible voter is accounted for and the number of printed ballots matches the number of registered voters.

Without a confirmed register, how would you know the number of voters who are expected to vote during an election? This raises the risk of over- or under-printing of ballot papers.

Many Ghanaians have taken to social media, expressing their frustration and demanding answers from the EC.

Concerns about potential voter fraud, inaccuracies, and a dent on the integrity of the election process are mounting.

With the election drawing closer, this revelation has only heightened the demand for accountability and transparency.

The EC must clarify this issue before it undermines the public trust in Ghana’s democratic process
