Ghana is facing an impending water crisis if immediate steps aren’t taken to address severe inefficiencies in water treatment, according to Dr. Clifford Braimah, Managing Director of the Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL).
Speaking on Joy FM’s Super Morning Show, Dr. Braimah revealed alarming water loss rates during treatment—far exceeding the acceptable limit of 5%, with current losses between 35% and 50%.
He warned that without swift intervention, the nation could soon face a shortage of safe drinking water, urging citizens to take action against pollution and inefficiencies that threaten the country’s water supply.
