Napo Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh, the Vice Presidential Candidate of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), has launched a sharp critique against the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) for their controversial policy proposal to establish ’24-hour Nightclubs’ if they win the upcoming December 7 elections.
Nicknamed ‘Napo,’ the NPP’s running mate did not mince words, denouncing the NDC’s plan as a clear indication of their inability to address the country’s real needs and priorities. He argued that the proposal reflects a severe lack of innovative ideas and genuine concern for the welfare of the people, particularly the nation’s youth.
Instead of promoting nightclubs, Napo emphasized that the NPP, under the leadership of Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia, is committed to empowering Ghanaians through valuable skills development. He stressed that the NPP’s focus is on enhancing the future of the youth with practical skills rather than fostering nightlife entertainment.
During his speech at the 2nd Annual Conference of the Ghana Unity Professional Tailors and Dressmakers Association, held at Wenchi Farms Institute in the Bono Region, Napo highlighted that the NPP prioritizes Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET). He believes this approach will effectively combat unemployment, promote financial stability, and support economic growth.
Napo also criticized the NDC for their past record, reminding voters of the ‘Dumsor’ crisis during their previous tenure, which he claims devastated businesses and hindered economic progress. He urged voters to reject the NDC’s return to power, asserting that the NPP is the only party capable of fostering a business-friendly environment and ensuring consistent progress.
In closing, Napo reaffirmed his call for the electorate to renew their trust in the NPP, underscoring that the NDC’s track record of failed policies and economic mismanagement should be a deterrent.
