Democracy Hub, organizers of the #StopGalamseyNow and #ReoccupyJulorbiHouse demonstrations, is urgently calling on authorities to address the health concerns of activist Oliver Barker-Vormawor, who has been in police custody since September 23, 2024. The activist was rushed to the Police Hospital on Thursday, October 10, after experiencing a serious decline in his health.
In a press statement, Democracy Hub expressed grave concern for Barker-Vormawor’s well-being and urged the authorities to respond quickly, ensuring he receives the necessary medical care. Medical professionals are currently conducting tests to assess his condition and determine whether hospitalization is required.
This is the second time Barker-Vormawor’s health has worsened since his detention, raising significant concerns about his treatment in custody. Despite multiple appeals for his release, he remains the only protester from the demonstrations who has been denied bail, while 52 others were granted bail on October 9.
Democracy Hub continues to monitor the situation closely, urging the public to keep Barker-Vormawor in their thoughts and prayers as they call for urgent action from authorities to ensure his well-being.
