SHS 2 Student Sentenced to 15 Years Imprisonment at Obuasi


The Obuasi Circuit court has sentenced an 18 year Student of Asare Bediako Senior High School to 15 years imprisonment with hard labour.

The Obuasi Municipal Police Commander, DSP Martin Asenso, disclosed to the press gathered at the court that the convict, Micheal Dakorah, a form 2 General Arts student of the Asare Bediako Senior High School, with his accomplice called Bullet hired a commercial motor rider (Okada) called Bernard Appiah from Kwapia to Aketekyieso.

According to him, “in the middle of the road, Bullet then removed his sandals while on the bike which compelled Appiah to stop and through the process, pepper spray was showered into the eyes of Appiah when the culprit, Micheal Dakorah also known as stood on him with a knife.” he said.

Bernard Appiah, the Okada rider quickly reported the incident to the people of Aketekyieso and Kwapia where an ambush was laid leading to the arrest of the culprit.

On Tuesday, April 13, 2021, the Obuasi Circuit Court presided over by Her Ladyship Joyce Boahen sentenced Michael Dakorah, also known as “One Plug” to 15 years imprisonment with hard labour.

The convict, speaking to the press took the opportunity to advise his fellow colleagues to refrain from such armed robberies.
