Considering what happened to NPP in the December 7th Elections the President in the nominations of MMDA’s chief Executives must pay serious attention to the grassroots and make a critical assessment of endorsements from chiefs and Party Executive. Fanteakwa Palace has been informed through some Constituency Party Executives that the President has said the incumbent Fanteakwa North District Chief Executive will certainly be retained.
For this reason most of the members of the Traditional Authority though they have a preferred candidate had no choice but to reluctantly support the incumbent. The Traditional Authority has not done any consultation with the people of Fanteakwa North so throwing a weight behind the incumbent is an absurdity. To nominate a DCE for Fanteakwa North, with all due respect the President of the Republic must be well informed on whether the incumbent being the choice of the Traditional Authority is the choice of Fanteakwa North citizens both home and abroad.
The various Associations of Fanteakwa citizens overseas are full forces to reckon with because they greatly assist in development so must therefore have influences in matters of this kind.
Recently only three Chiefs from Fanteakwa Traditional Authority clandestinely went to the Jubilee House on behalf of the incumbent DCE.
In matters of this nature the real power is with the citizens so Traditional Authorities must rather do wider consultations before taking decisions. The question one may ask is how many chiefs we have at Fanteakwa North and how many votes do they have. If it happens that the Traditional Authority has thrown its weight behind the one who is not the favourite of the people the consequences will be detrimental. No Traditional Authority can force down a bitter pill in the throats of the citizens because political awareness has gained solid grounds.
Fanteakwa North NPP is bleeding profusely. To stop this bleeding His Excellency the President must be well informed so that critical assessment is made on the nomination of the Fanteakwa North DCE. The question so many people are asking is that if really the President will retain him why at all does the incumbent need Traditional Authority Petition.
Why also must only three chiefs from the Traditional Authority travel to Jubilee House on behalf of the DCE without the knowledge of many of the members of the Traditional Authority. A very good intelligence work will easily reveal who among the DCE Contestants has the backing of Fanteakwa Traditional Authority. It will also bring to light who the citizens of Fanteakwa North both home and abroad want as DCE and the reasons why. Autocracy in the Palace leading to imposition is perilous. If the corridors of power in NPP succumb to the petition of Fanteakwa Traditional Authority without critical and proper assessment 2024 election will be a disaster.
THE TRUTH MUST BE TOLD IRRESPECTIVE OF THE CONSEQUENCES
