A tragic accident on the Apam-Winneba Highway in Gomoa Mprumamu has claimed the lives of three individuals, while twelve others remain in critical condition. The accident occurred when a Toyota Hiace bus, carrying 15 passengers with registration number CR: 805-24, veered off the road and somersaulted into the bush after one of its tires burst.
According to DO2 Anthony Kwesi Rhule, Ghana National Fire Service Commander at Apam, parts of the bus caught fire after the somersault, further complicating the rescue efforts.
Many of the passengers were traveling to Cape Coast to attend the ongoing Fetu Afahye Festival. Among the victims were three children, two of whom survived, though their mother tragically lost her life in the accident.
