Veteran prolific Akan newscaster, Wofa Sekyere ‘Poporo’ Boateng has died

Kwadwo Dickson, General Manager of Accra-based Angel FM, and Peace FM’s popular news anchor Nana Yaa Konadu both confirmed the sad news about their former colleague at Despite Media on their social media pages spotted by newstodaygh.com.

On Kwadwo Dickson’s facebook page, he wrote:

“REST IN PERFECT PEACE WOFA SEKYERE ‘POPORO’ BOATENG.
YOU WERE A GREAT MENTOR TO ME AND OTHERS IN THE MEDIA”

Nana Yaa Konadu also wrote:

“Eeeish June
Rest Well
Wofa Sekyere Poporo”

These two posts sighted on social media was enough to confirm that indeed the veteran broadcaster had passed on.

Wofa Paporo as he was affectionately called was a broadcast journalist who previously worked with Ghana Broadcasting Coporation (GBC), Peace FM, Happy FM, Adom FM and Hot FM before retiring from the media industry few years ago.

We have no idea what caused his death, but we will bring you more when the information becomes available.

The media fraternity has indeed lost a great man. May his gentle soul rest in perfect peace.
